Thread: Quantum LTO 3 drive letter not

Hello, On a server W2003 I just installed a Quantum LTO drive 3. In Computer Management \ Storage \ Removable Storage \ Library I see my "Quantum LTO 3 Tape. In the properties and I see checked Enable Drive in the services and applications the service Storage removable is started. In the Device Manager line Tape Drive exists as an item with Quantum LTO 3 Tape Drive In Windows Explorer no drive mounts. No letter is assigned is it normal for a removable drive? if this is not how normal I enable it?

Folder Options and uncheck Hide empty drives can be.

Thank you but this option does not seem available with W2003. Can someone at least confirm that the drive appears in the list of Windows Explorer or is this normal for a tape drive system because no compatible file tree that move?

You use it with any backup software your drive?

That is normal but it is local well detected report to your anxiety not to see letter assigned? I think sharing the drive will only work with a reader or library connected to a fiber switch with your two machines.
