Gadget maker Cowon Displayed three new portable multimedia players at the IFA consumer electronics show. Each device is aimed at a different market segment, although all three devices are capable of video, music and picture playback and include terrestrial digital TV receivers. The S9 Curve is the most stylish and design conscious of the bunch and is simply good looking. As its name suggests, it has a rounded back panel. There's a 3.3 inch OLED (organic light emitting diode) touchscreen display with a resolution of 480 pixels by 272 pixels. It has an FM radio, dictionary and a TV output port.

The O2 player has a slightly larger 4.3-inch touchscreen display and looks much like a standard portable media player. It's available in three colors, white, pink and black, and three memory capacities: 8GB, 16GB and 32GB. It will play almost any media file. Video and audio playability includes support for a wide range of file formats. The L3 is the largest and most rugged of the three and aimed at the adventurous bunch among us. It also has a 7 -inch touchscreen display, GPS (Global Positioning System) receiver and navigation software. It can be mounted to a bracket, or even car dashboard, and Cowon has also included an FM radio transmitter so the unit's audio output can be heard over the car stereo.
