HOW DOES IT WORK? With a built-in hand crank offering up to 45 minutes of audio for each minute of supple wrist action, the only reason to plug this in is to fill the 4GB memory with tunes, 30fps videos, photos and e-books. The spec is cracking - there's also stereo line in, an FM radio and voice recorder - and it works a charm, with excellent audio quality and perfectly respectable video performance, given the pokiness of the two-inch screen. As an added bonus you can also charge your phone from it, via an adaptor It takes 50 times more energy to make one battery than it'll ever give out in juice and with 600 million bemg chucked each year, anything you can do to eradicate their use - especially without plugging In - is a bonus. CASH SAVING? It depends on how hard you work your wrists, but up to Rs 225 per year according to the Energy Saving Trust.
