Ever since iPod-mania gripped the world, there has been little space for competing music players to take over. The next in line to challenge the iPod's might is the credit card-sized Creative Zen with a storage capacity of 4 GB.

Dominating the front of the unit is a brilliant 2.5-inch TFT screen, probably the best we have seen on any small player. The navigation keypad, play/pause button and other keys can be found just next to it. The micro-SD slot and the mic are located on the top, while the 3.5 mm earphone jack, power button and the mini-USB slot are
on the right. The audio quality was immaculate with different audio settings. It
supports WMA, MP3 and AAC4 (.M4A) formats for audio, as well as WMV9, MJPEG, MPEG4-SP, DivX and XviD for videos, and JPEG, BMP, TIFF for photos.

The built in rechargeable battery is good for about 20 hours of non-stop audio and close to 5 hours of continuous video playback. There will be more capacities available soon, topping out at 32 GB. I'd have this over an iPod any day. In short, if you want a small, pocketable and truly fantastic PMP player, you just can't do better.
