The re-launch with improvements incorporated, still propagates the old iPod as an extremely solid choice for any discerning music lover looking for a high¬capacity do-it-all device. It is available in 80GB and 160GB capacities. The 160GB allows you 40000 songs and upto 200 hours of videos on the move and the battery life is extended to cater 40 hours of music listening. The video playback is extended to a maximum of seven hours, which is seriously impressive.
The most obvious change is to the glossy front fascia. An aluminium faceplate now replaces the glossy, all-plastic facade found on the previous models. The comers are rounded with gently curving edges, while the back is shiny chrome, just as before. The Classic has also been slimmed down by a few millimetres at just 1O.5mm. The screen resolution and dimensions remains the same and still occupies half of the front of the player with the click wheel control dominating the lower half.
Interface features the most exciting addition of Cover Flow. Other additions include a selection of games and a music quiz that's based on the collection of songs you've downloaded onto it. The shell opened and the electronics have changed too. The Wolfson Electronics decoding chip of previous models is replaced with one from Cirrus. Sound quality as always with Apple still rocks.
