Computeractive regulars would have read reviews of Creative Zen Vision and Creative Zen Vision M. Creative's Zen Vision W (Widescreen) that we had reviewed some time back is the Editors' Choice for the portable media player. The screen size of the Creative Zen Vision W is at 4.3in, just a tad bigger and it is capable of displaying a maximum resolution of 480 x 272 pixels. The pictures are crisp and clear. There are two variants: a 30GB and a 60GB. Except for the storage space there is no difference between them.
The player is well designed and a pleasure to use. At the top lies the power/hold button with the volume control button located next to it. On the face, next to the widescreen you will find the control panel with all the works. The user interface is intuitively designed. First time users will not find it difficult operating the Zen Vision W. The player does not come with any docking station or viewing stand, but what we really liked about the player is that it can be charged via the USB cable bundled along. There is also a provision for an AC adapter. The Zen Vision W accepts CompactFlash memory cards. You can even buy an optional memory adapter that will allow you to use SD cards as well.
This provision is useful in case you need to transfer files directly from the memory card of your digital camera or mobile phone. You can view the pictures stored in the device as slideshows with background music. On the plus side there is no need to convert the DivX file for compatibility with the player, just dump and play. The Creative Zen Vision W (30GB) is ideal for pure entertainment junkies who do a lot of traveling and want to carry thyiLe tertainment wherever they go.
