Why is it good? From Apple's very own stable, this one-piece speaker is the biggest heavyweight of them all (and we mean this literally this weighs a hefty 6,6 kgs!). The big white box is durable and throws out good sound, though stereo speaker separation is out of the question. The included remote is handy, though don't expect to be able to control the iPod with it; you need to get an additional set-up to do that. (Just another way for Apple to squeeze money out of us poor working laddies!) Works on electricity as well as with six D-cell batteries and unfortunately lacks any video out, headphone jack and a dock connector-out. For the price you're plunking down to own one, we say don't bother and just stick with the lesser priced Speaker.
