In the five years since the introduction of iPod, Apple has the land-locked down the online music business. 1 out of 5 Americans owns or has owned an iPod, and consumers have downloaded more than 1 billion songs from the Apple iTunes music store. Riding on the heels of that success, yesterday, Apple founder Steve Jobs fired its first shots in the battle to revolutionize the film industry. At a special event entitled "It's Showtime," Apple unloaded new gadgets, like it was Christmas morning.

In this one case, Steve Jobs announced the following new products and advance new wireless router video called iTV:

new version, iTunes 7.1.3 and QuickTime 7
More video iPod players, including the iPod 80GB
new multi-color iPod Nanos, which went up to 8 GB, and not scratch
a matchbook-sized iPod Shuffle
The new version of iTunes (iTunes 7) sells more than just music and television. iTunes now sells movies and games. In movies valued from $ 9.99 and include new releases, such as "Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl, as well as older classics. If you were disappointed with the quality of some of the video you have downloaded iTunes in the past, then you will be happy to know that the quality of the video also received updates. Any movie you buy is in a quasi-DVD-quality, 640 - to-480 pixels, video, and Dolby Surround sound.

WARNING: As I wrote this blog post, 4 MethodShop.com readers have reported that iTunes 7 erase their iPod. Thus, you might want to wait and backup to update your iPod to iTunes 7.

Games, movies and the new iPod players are good, but what happens to iTV? In the major break in the tradition of Apple, Steve Jobs only advance a new wireless router product called iTV (screens). Apple usually likes to have products ready to declare the day they buy them, so this preannouncement caught for each guard. According to CBS MarketWatch, the iTV can attach to a television and wires, receive and play digital content from any computer (Mac or PC) is working iTunes software. In iTV will also be equipped with HDMI port for high-resolution digital television. We can expect to see something iTV in the first quarter of 2007 at a rate of about 299 dollars.
