Apple has been selling movies in iTunes 7 for a full week now. As sales? According to a report published in The Wall Street Journal, Walt Disney said it sold 125000 film downloads in the total amount of $ 1 million in revenue. Not bad for only 1 week.

"This is just the beginning," Disney CEO Robert Iger told Wall Street analysts at the conference on Tuesday. "[iTunes] was [to be] a big business, because no marketing or other expenses involved in the sale of digital downloads, with the exception of the cost of encoding." Games went on to forecast that iTunes would allow generate $ 50 million Disney in additional revenue this year.

Walt Disney Pictures, which includes Pixar, Touchstone Pictures and Miramax Films, is currently the only major film studio participated in iTunes.

75 Disney films, including such hits as "Pirates of the Caribbean" The Incredibles, goodwill and national treasure hunt, can now be purchased on iTunes. The other major film studios are exploring partnerships with iTunes competitors or disagreement with Apple for licensing fees. Disney success of this week is likely to help persuade other studios that participation in iTunes is probably a good idea.

Disney was also the first to offer TV shows on iTunes year ago from its American broadcast network ABC.
