Thread: Like iTunes saved the office

Management is one of the best shows on network TV. This is a smart, witty and very funny. But according to the Nielson ratings, the Office is a dud. Ratings were so bad that NBC virtually eliminated by the end of its first season. But since NBC owns and produces Office, they have nothing to lose by placing it in the iTunes Store. At least, NBC thought they could make a little money on iTunes until cancelled show. But as soon as the Office of the episodes are available on the Internet, they have become the best-selling iTunes night. Managing the huge fan base and low Neilson ratings were simply false.

Angela Bromstead, president of NBC Universal Television Studios, said in Newsday:

"I am not sure that we are still on the air show" without iTunes momentum… The network has just ordered so many episodes, but when it comes to iTunes and really started to take off, which gave us another way to see the true potential, not only Nielsen. It just sort of happened on the big time. "
