The new Nano comes in some cool, bright colors and has an anodized aluminium finish. Though this gives the iPod a glossy look, the fingerprints are hard to see! The display screen has been amped up to 2.2" from the 2" from the previous model and it now has a 16:9 wide screen. Available in 8/16GB variants, the Nano now sports a tiny pinhole video camera and microphone on its back. The speaker is invisible and is placed at the bottom behind the earphone jack. Other than that, there are no design changes in comparison to the previous model.
In terms of music playback capabilities, the iPod is the same. You need to pair it up with good earphones to enjoy your music. The output is great through the headphones and the speaker. Although, the speaker is just good enough for personal listening, the FM Radio works astoundingly well! The auto scan picked up all the 10 radio stations in the first scan itself. The reception of radio was also great, much better than many of its competitors. The Livepause feature records the radio for 15 minutes at a time. So, you can listen back from 15 minutes of what you missed out and it even allows you to rewind and forward the recorded track.
