Life would be rubbish without the net - it's bad enough relinquishing our social drip-feeds each time we log off Facebook. We want to be conneded all the time but, till now, smartphone manufacturers have failed miserably to recreate the internet for the small screen. Rather than come up with some ingenious new tech, they've kind of given up - and good for them. A new breed of products that can display web pages as God intended (in 800-pixel width form) are making mobile internet truly viable. Toshiba's Portege G900 has one, but we're most enamoured of the Nokia E90. Coupled with the excellent Series 60 browser, HSDPA and Wi-FI, it's as quick as a 40-foot gazelle and actually makes sites look better than they do on your Pc.
