The Finns must have been watching the rejuvenated Dr Who, as they appear to have stumbled across the good doctor's Tardis technology. How else could they cram this amount of electrickery into such a neat little slider. Can't be witchcraft - all those warty hags got their comeuppance centuries ago.
This is far more than just a slidey version of the excellent N70: it's a revolution. Think Wi-Fi, 3G, 3megapixel camera ... And that's just the big guns. The first thing you actually notice is a diamond-cuttingly sharp screen that's a far cry from Nokia's normal behind the times displays. The Series 60/Symbian operating system is, as ever, superb for doing basic phone things - although Simple business, like changing ringtones, is still a spectacularly complicated process.

What really seals the deal, though, is that its wealth of tech is in such a small, user-friendly package. You could carry it about in your undercrackers and not attract the wrong sort of attention. It might not have the P990's QWERTY keyboard or massive battery life but if it were any better we'd be "quite tempted to marry it and sire a brood of miniSD cards.
