Hi,
I am considering a change to Windows Vista 7. Should I wait or try it? Anyone that this changes yet? I have the RC version Asus 7100, the last of the betas.

I am looking for information on the forums about how the work of drivers, compatibility wise. Any ideas?
I bought an Asus X5-G50VT Best Buy last week and installed Windows 7 quite easily. Asus Vista drivers are a bit cranky when it is installed (some need to be installed on two occasions), but for the most part, it works pretty well. I play Left 4 Dead, and never crossing below 30 fps!
My only problem was losing my time browsing the Internet. I can still do instant messaging and such, but only drops like crazy. Disconnecting wireless again and it seems to fix it.
Do you have problems with the touchpad? I installed Windows 7 64-bit and added all the Asus drivers. All my keys and the keys to work, except the wireless keyboard and key faculty of arts. The key to getting the job to shortcut keys for editing the registry key that controls the hotkeys. Basically, the change was to rename the file that is called "Hcontroluser.exe to Hcontrol.exe" after you receives a security warning on startup, but the keys work. I will try to find the exact key but he was again here in the forums somewhere.
The easiest way to do this is an upgrade to Vista. Almost all the work that way. And use 182.05 or dox 185.20 (use view of compatibility) of video driver.
I did not want to get rid of Vista yet. I use XP Pro actually more than Vista, but did not know what I was getting into with W7, so we proceeded with caution. Currently, my Asus G50VT-A2 is tri-boot with Vista 64, XP Pro 64 and W7.
Asus provides new drivers for when 7 then I will change, but I can not live without my function keys and my OLED display.
I connected the keyboard to fix before the ASUS forums and in fact, work, but make sure you modify the registry to point to Hcontrol.exe instead Hcontroluser.exe!
