Thread: Business acquire: T61 vs. T500 Thinkpad Notebook

We - small asking firm - are about to restore Lenovo T40s with new ThinkPads. We have a number of Lenovo T61s at present in use. Usage is exclusively for business. We are looking into buying from Lenovo - either some Lenovo T61s, or some Lenovo T500s.

Make sure you distinguish between the S and p because they are two very dissimilar machines. With the p I was going to ask what performance diffential other than memory?

With all the sales, new Lenovo t500 are contemptible than comparable in specification renovate Lenovo t61 from what I have seen. Considering there will be most likely a new Intel platform in the fall, towards the end of the year Lenovo t61 will become 2 generations old.

Can you tell me about which model you are talking about?

AFAIK there is not Lenovo T61s or Lenovo T500s.

With the mag roll cage I would wait for the Lenovo t61 to one up on the Lenovo t40, what problems have you been having with them quality wise?

I would perhaps get whichever is of low cost. For business purposes there are least differences between the 2. Yes the Lenovo t500 is newer tech, but I am assuming you will be using these for MS office, email and internet.

I agree that the considerable increase in battery life and cooler machines (though that's trivial) would be worthy jiggle to the Lenovo T500.

The Lenovo T500 does run’s more well than the Lenovo T61, from what I have been inquiring. Quality-and build-wise, it is attractive much equal to the Lenovo T61. I would most likely suggest the Lenovo T500, as the price dissimilarity will not be very big, and the Lenovo T500 has newer knowledge.

The only reason I would say Lenovo t500 is that if your going to spend 900-1000 why spend it on old tech? For the same price you can get a well equipped Lenovo t500.

I would tell there are good reasons to go with the Lenovo t500. But as confirmed the advantage of a completely identical fleet of notebooks for a small company - especially considering the think vantage situation - cannot be underestimated.
