Thread: Alienware laptop optical drive???

Recently won the Alienware m17x and have been using for a while. When I put a disc into the optical drive, I get this clicking noise for about roughly 10 seconds while the spinning slowly, and after that it’s normal. Should I worry about this?

I would say that if it was then all disks in question, but since only a few, not the sweat. You have a warranty if it breaks down in both directions.

I do not worry. Mina clicks dirty discs, some CD's, DVD's with some odd Copy protection schemes as if it comes to finding the starting point for the volume.

Well do not want to scare you. But I had a problem with my wii (loading slot as well) and I had to get replaced because the laser will make a clicking sound. This has happened with every disc. May not apply to the laptop. Sorry if that scares you. Apparently it is not so difficult to replace, however, were too fast for me.

Do not click that is often trying to find the start of the hard drive and a time to do, DVDs and CDs are changing all the time and have different protections copy of them, so that over the years have made it difficult for a drive to read all the time without some issues.
