The name has much to do with what is described as the "8000 vertical state of mind", represented by the world's five highest summits (peaks); namely, Makalu (8463m), Lhotse (8516 m), Kanchenjunga (8586 m), K2 (8611 m), and Chomolungma (8844 m), which are on the notebook front cover. Also on the inside of the Snowmountain
NB is a vignette of a mountaineer scaling a peak, symbolizing challenge, aspirations, and the constant climb towards betterment.

More significantly, the Y410 Snowmountain NB features Audio DJ capability; which means it allows playing music even when turned off. There's an audio function panel encased design outside the top cover and a slot-in ODD at the side panel of the 14.1inches wide-screen NB. The notebook incorporates 'Easy Capture', which is a multimedia software application for easy photo editing and power to go, for reading and recording data.

The Snowmountain NB has other multimedia capabilities, including front facing Dolby Home Theater speakers, integrated microphone for playing and recording audio, integrated Web cam for personal communication, integrated DVD recordable drive, and Shuttle Center along with the latest edition of Audio DJ. Other features of the NB include biometric face recognition technology, one touch recovery, and longer battery life of up to 4 hours. Lenovo's Y410 Snowmountain Notebook is available at all Lenovo authorized stores across the country for Rs 58,990 (exclusive of taxes).
