BenQ has careered onto the mobile scene like a Saxo-driving hoodie into a public car park but its lone smartphone is a far cry from previous slinky offerings. The PSO is so straitlaced that its dark blue casing blends in with an off-the-peg M&S suit, although it's so horrendously big and blocky it would struggle to blend in with the New York skyline. In fact, this is such a business-like handset that the 1.3megapixel camera round the back seems like an afterthought. It's not just the size that's off-putting, either, as it's too heavy to sit comfortably in either pocket or briefcase.
What the P5O lacks in refined styling it partially makes up in productive goodness.
A full QWERTY keyboard, massive touchscreen and Wi-Fi headline the act, with support from quad-band connectivity and an SDIa slot. That should be enough for the ardent workaholic and emailer but only for the short time between getting
used to the pitfalls of the flawed Windows 2003 as and the battery dying after. what seems a criminally short time. Oh, and did we mention that it's big and heavy.
