The Blackberry 8820 is an out and out business phone that pays great dividends to users who are perpetually connected to the Web. It is a great phone for staying connected and managing your schedules and appointments. If you are looking to buy a smartphone with email on your mind, you can go ahead and purchase a Blackberry without hesitation. Users also get access to Blackberry Connect, the service that can be used to avail its excellent email feature. What separates the 8820 from its less expensive sibling (the Curve 8300), is the presence of Wi-Pi and GPS. To use the 8820's GPS in India, you can download maps from after which the Blackberry takes over efficiently.

The Blackberry interface has always been praised for being quick and simple to use, the 8820 is no different. The interface coupled with the trackball navigation system gives users an uncomplicated way to use the phone. Unlike some other phones, the trackball never lets you feel the lack of a touchscreen. The phone looks great too, although there is a little too much plastic for our liking. Like in other Blackberry phones, the QWERTY keypad is nicely designed and complements long bouts of typing.

The 8820 keeps things at a pace even when multi-tasking. However, users should not expect too many multimedia capabilities from the phone as it does not feature a camera or an exemplary media player. With the office suite that comes pre-packaged, you can only view and edit documents that have been sent as attachments through e-mails and to get anything more you will have to pay for a full suite. Although the 8820 is a good business phone, it managed to rank only seventh in our comparison.
