    Default Asus P525 Mobile Phones

Asus better known for motherboards, laptops, and graphic cards is entering the Indian Smartphone segment slowly and steadily. Sometime back we had reviewed the Asus P535 and were pretty impressed with its performance. This time, we have our hands on its younger sibling, the P525. A quad-band phone, the P525 features Bluetooth, Infrared, and Wi-Fi. It is a touch screen phone with a regular numeric keypad. The 2.8in LCD displays good vivid colours. There are many things that we liked about the P525.To begin, the touch sensitivity of the phone is one of the bestthatwe have come across.

A feather like tap on the screen and the click gets registered;saying this though, it does not however imply that it is over sensitive. The phone runs on Windows Mobile 5.0.lt is powered by the Intel Xscale processor running at416 MHz. This meaty processor makes the phone perform tasks faster The phone looks good with its silver coloured body that provides a metallic finish. The back of phone is also not prone to scratches, unlike other smartphones. On the multimedia front, the P525 comes with an integrated 2megapixle camera that has autofocus and 5x digital zoom. The internal memory of the phone is 64MB and it comes with an expansion slot that supports miniSD cards as well.

The P525 comes pre-installed with ASUS Status that monitors and displays the status of hardware like battery, memory, and CPU mode. The CPU mode lets you select any of the three different Power modes - Turbo, Standard, and Power saving modes that automatically throttle CPU speeds settings. Being a Windows phone, the basic Office productivity suite and e-mail applications are defacto.A gripe that we have with the phone is that although you close the application, it still runs in the background and hence the memory is still utilised. The P525's battery life was a little low. It just lasted for two days with regular calls and some sessions of Solitaire. The price ofthe device is Rs.22,490, which we feel is reasonable. Asus bundles a protection cover, earphones, and an extra stylus with the pack.
