Thread: AT&T Add New BlackBerry Devices

U.S. cell phone carriers are widely criticized by many for the slow lead time that it takes for them to add new devices to their line up. AT&T looks like the carrier to go with in the U.S. if you want access to the latest devices, at least for the remainder of this year. AT&T looks to have a very big lineup that will be adding a variety of new models of smart phones in the second half of this year.

First up will be the new devices from RIM. Other than the Storm, which went to Verizon as an exclusive, AT&T has been very strong with their previous BlackBerry offerings and the rest of 2009 will not be any different. AT&T will launch the Onyx, Magnum, and Gemini BlackBerry smartphones before the end of the year. The new 3G addition to the Pearl family is also expected, but this time around it will be a non-flip styled version.



In addition to the new BlackBerry offerings, it appears that AT&T is watching the launch of the Palm Pre very closely with plans to offer the Palm EOS later in the year if Sprint’s sales of the Pre with its new WebOS live up to all of the hype.

Beyond the new BlackBerry offerings and the possibility of addition of the Palm EOS, it looks like AT&T will cover its bases by adding its first Android offering in the form of the HTC Lancaster, which is a QWERTY slider that offers styling that is similar to the Touch Pro2.
