One of the better looking QWERTY -packing smartphones on the circuit, this mid-range BlackBerry is compact and solidly built. The trackball generally works well for work and play. but the push email service and keyboard are the headliners. The ability to download software from BlackBerry's App World is still a sideshow.

The lack of 3G is criminal. GPRS speeds may be adequate for downloading emails, but it slows full-fat browsing to a crawl. At least Wi-Fi is poised should you hit a hotspot. Sending emails is seamless, the QWERTY sweet to thumb and the 3.5mm jack boosts the audio performance. A stylish mid-range smartie, and a solid bet for the avid communicator.
