While the Archos 605 WiFi was sleeping, its rivals plotted against it, using their maps to run rings around it. But as the iPhone, iPod Touch and a multitude of mobiles were consulting their charts, the Archos was dreaming. It imagined a new bundle that packed it up with software and a gave it a GPS receiver cradle to turn it from a simple PMP into a multimedia spitting, turn by turn direction giving sat - nav superstar, with maps of the US, Europe and China. Its receiver would be hidden in the cradle, keeping it confined to the car but it would work with all its versions (from 4GB to 160GB) and be sold separately too.
