Have you ever had to leave town, nuking your well-laid plans to catch up on the cricket series over the weekend? OVRs may help but lead to a backlog of recorded shows. If you yearn to 3Icha'live'match, then get hold of the Slingbox Pro-HO. With a bit of '"o(J.youcan watch TV and media off a OVO/Blu-ray player in real-time.
The Slingbox Pro-HD does not downsample HO contentto SO over 'renetwork orthe web. This version delivers an HO stream to your laptop xsmartphone (if you buy the mobile player), making bandwidth a vital ~nction of the overall experience. There are a few drawbacks but they are outweighed by the sheer convenience of The sober grey and black plastic box, with its signature shape, IS light and not much of a space hog.
Two LEOs tell you whether it is receiving power and connected to a network. One set of cables for every connection type has been provided - component, RCA, coaxial, oomponent. Ethernet and infrared cables that'll help you control the devices connected to the Slingbox. Though this device supports HO streaming, it doesn't have an HOMI-in and supports videos up to 1080i.
Set up is fairly simple, wire-up the Slingbox and finish off with the browser-led configuration. We recommend the excellent user guide to all noobs. There is one caveat - the device you intend to watch TV on first needs to be configured on the same network the Slingshot is in. Also, while the cable TV is on, home and remote viewers have to watch the Si'me channel. The outcome ofthis whole shebang was pretty positive streams within the network were perfect while those via the web were decent and dependent on the bandwidth. Truly apractical investment if j you and the family can't live without cable TV.
