One of the first things you will notice about the printouts from this Epson is a prominent greenish-yellow tinge. And that is not a good thing, especially for a photo printer. You can rectify this to a considerable extent by manually setting levels in the printer preferences, using trial and error method, but you really shouldn't have to do this in today's photo printer. Color fill was good, we could hardly make out gaps in print but details were not as visible as with the Canon printers.
Text printing quality was better, the black letters had a solid fill and there was very little bleeding at the edges. Speed wise, this is the slowest printer in this comparison. Time to print first page (text document, A4 size), was a lethargiC 35 seconds. Best case rated speed (draft mode) was 16ppm for black and 15ppm for color text. Our test image of A4 size, printed at best quality, took just under four minutes to be complete.
