Sony NV-U44 GPS Navigation ,as entry-level model of Sony NAV-U line of handheld GPS devices, NV-U44 has a core set of functionality. There is no Bluetooth hands-free. There is no traffic information. There is no playback of multimedia. For your $ 249 dollars, only feature that you receive for basic navigation photo viewer.However, for many consumers the basics of everything that is required. In this regard, NV-U44 is a very good job to create a good navigation experience without breaking the bank. 3.5-inch screen is easy to see in daylight and sharpish permission 320x240. Although the antiglare screen coating prevents all but greasiest fingers showing up, glossy bezel collect fingerprints and stains easily.

NV-U44 is very different from the aesthetic more members NAV-U lineup, but the overall configuration is similar. Two buttons are located on the left side of the screen, one trigger menu, and another for voice / Village. On the left side of the device has a slot for Memory Stick Pro Duo. At the top is the power button, and at the bottom are the reset button and USB port used for charging devices and connect to a computer. There is no lock switch, so the power button requires deliberate press and hold to trigger. Sony has implemented its gesture command system at the NV-U44, which allows quick navigation through simple finger movements. For example, using the inverted "V" shape, which is similar to the roof of a house, the reasons NV-U44, to set appointments to the home page and start navigation.

The problem with gestures is that they are not well documented. There is only incidental references to function in the operation instructions, as well as the Sony Web site was not a help, either. After much searching, we could find, but five teams: previously mentioned "Home", which is clockwise and counter-clockwise circles to "enlarge" and "reduce" and the L-shape and reverse L-shape to the user one and two.
