PHILIPS SOUNDBAR HTS8140 SPEAKER, Philips' compact home HTiB is a heck of a trendy product. The first time you have a look at it, you'll wonder why the centre channel speaker is so absurdly long. But then you'll realise that the centre speaker you see before you is the only speaker involved apart from the subwoofer. Essentially, this speaker is an all-in-one home theatre system that integrates an upscaling DVD player as well.lnnovatively, the single speaker component houses all the five speakers conventionally required in an HT setup.

The surrounds are positioned such that they fire at an angle, and the sound appears to hit the listener from behind. The built-in DVD panel is mighty impressive as well. For starters, it's absolutely inconspicuous. It's only after you press the 'Eject' button on the remote will you figure out where it's located. The DVD lens is directly behind the main panel at the centre of the system. When you need to insert a disc, the flap slickly slides to the side allowing you to vertically mount the disc.
