WITH ITS SHINY black and matted silver finish, this pair of cans certainly looks more over-the-top than stylish. The good part is that the OTT foam padding do help the headphones to fit snugly around the ears. The band's extensible to quite an extent, but noisy. Note: if you want to save yourself some trauma, we recommend taking off the headset before you adjust the band.
Comparatively light to wield, this multimedia set boasts of some nifty features. The microphone is attached to the headset via a freely bendable cable. Vou can twist it, curl it, and pretty much do as you like. How it translates into efficient real-world usage? We don't know. The mic doesn't have high sensitivity either, which means that you'll have to blast the input/output levels if you intend on having your voice heard.
Connect the USB cable on the headset to a free port on your computer and
set the bass slider to level!. The next time you play AC/DC's Highway to Hell, the phones will actually vibrate with an intensity matching the lows! This 'vibration effect' also quasi-enhances the bass - you'd think that the drivers are doing a good job. Increase it to level two if you're in for some, umm, tingly sensations or make it zero and you're back in bland country again.
Then again, the speakers aren't that bad. The mid-range frequencies stand out a bit more than the highs and lows. This actually makes the aural experience quite enjoyable if you're listening to an acoustic instrument, a scratchy old Dean Martin vinyl, or some good old bebop. Music with an emphasis on bass sounds all right too, thanks to the vibration system. Just don't play any Bollywood or techno tunes and you'll be fine.
