The three piece black coloured speaker system from Altec Lansing features a sub-woofer and 2 satellites. The BXRl121s sub-woofer is 7 watts and the two satellites are rated at 4 watts each. The volume control button, bass and treble control, and earphone jack are housed on one of the satellite speakers. The overall appearance is appealing; the subwoofer is square with the output facing down to make it sound good. The subwoofer produces good bass even on low volumes.TheBXRl121 are pure PC multimedia speakers and cannot be mounted on the wall.

To test the sound quality of the speakers, we played some music, DVDs, and games. The BXRl121 has great sound quality considering it is a 2.1 speaker. It produced no hiss at higher volumes and also produced the low frequencies very well, but it is slightly heavy on the bass. At full volume there is no distortion in sound either. It has to be said though that the loud thumps made the gaming experience more eventful.

The BXRl121 can also be attached to a MP3 player.Altec Lansing also supplies a stand to place the MP3 player on. The Altec Lansing BXR1121 retails for Rs.1 ,300, which is slightly over priced as compared to other 2.1 speakers available. Nevertheless, if you are an occasional gamer and listen to music on your PC then the Altec Lansing BXRl121 will definitely not disappoint.
