Should a gadget wear its heritage on its metaphorical sleeve? Is it better, for example, that the iPhone is a piece of distinctly 2007 industrial design, or would it be an even cooler gadget if it were, say, made from Bakelite? After all, the telephone occupies a hallowed position in tech history, and so does the turntable, even if the one in question prefers to send its audio out digitally via USB rather than dual phono analogue. So it is with the Keepsake, which allows you to record all of your vinyl (33s, 45s and 78s) in pristine digital on your computer while looking a like slab of '50s hi-fi. It also has built-in speakers so you can monitor the crackle.
