Like flying, where first-class treatment has been usurped by tin-can flights in which attendants would rather punch you in the throat than give you a beaker of Cava, skiing is no longer the sole reserve of the rich. The Satski is bringing back some of that long-lost exclusivity.
This GPS device provides maps of participating resorts and records your position, altitude, speed and distance, so you can replay your piste movements or download your route to Google Maps. It's also filled with useful POls and up-to-date weather and safety info. But blimey, it's expensive. Luckily, units are available for rental at resorts for £28 a day.
