The cabinets the five speakers come with are die-cast alloy that's available in this fantastic white and black. Its shape is something Mordaunt-Short has been developing for quite sometime now but all seems worth it when you hear the sound these speakers hum. Besides the subwoofer, the entire package comes with drivers made from CPC or Continuous Profile Cone (4-inches for the satellites and 3.5-inches for the centre), which is something Mordaunt-Short has dropped into their Mezzo towers along with others, with driver coupling taken right from aerospace technology. These extremely rigid anodised aluminium cones can take just about anything you throw at them, delivering the lows with piston-like movement while ensuring the mids and highs remain distortion-free. We've seen these drivers work with the Mezzos so we are aware of what they are capable of but whether or not they work in these satellites and the centre or not, we'll have to see. Especially the centre as it has two placed in MTM (Mid-Tweeter-Mid) design. Each of these guys come with one 1-inch aluminium dome tweeter that Mordaunt-Short has gotten themselves famous for as it has been optimally damped to offer smooth delivery of high frequencies no matter what the volume level.
The 409-watts subwoofer is a digital one as it's powered by a 200-watts digital amplifier. The 10-inch long-throw CPC driver comes hooked up to their Adjustable Notch Filter (ANF) technology that allows you to tune out any unwanted sounds the room may be causing the subwoofer to interfere with. It is a little more complicated than that as it uses Active Room Control of ARC, another Mordaunt-Short invention, that in-turn comes with an SPL (Sound Pressure Level) metre and a set-up CD, it all comes with the package.
