The MBL reference 101E four-way floorstanders. stood tall at around 67 inches. housing three 360 degrees omnidirectional Radialstahler drivers (one each for the woofer. mid and tweeter section). along with a conventional 12-inch subwoofer. which was graced in a front ported box. which sat at the bottom. The speaker itself is rated at a low sensitivity of 82db/W/m and has a power handling capacity of 500-watts (continuous) and 2000-watts (peak power). impedance rating is 4 ohms. The speaker also has a set of jumpers which can change the base tone from Natural to Attack and vice versa.

Powering these impressive speakers were the MBL 9011 monoblock power amplifiers (440-watts @ 8 ohms). Class A-B operation). each of these measuring in at a massive 13"(h) x 19"(w) x 34" (d). The preamplifier used was the equally beautiful 60100. Source components included the 1622 CO transport abd the 1611F Oac. While the amplifiers themselves. (perhaps o,wing to the sheer size). were on the floor. the rest of the components we lined up on a specialised shelf.
