If there was ever a magic box that would let you preserve your memories, this just might be the one. The latest addition to Canon's Selphy portfolio of dye-sublimation photo printers, the CP780 is so compact that you may mistake it for a tiffin box. Looks can be quite deceptive, however.
The device churns out 4x6-inch photos in all their colourful glor.y. Just Use USB to tether it to a PC like a regular printer, load the software, and print. Don't have a PC? Fret not, as this baby accepts memory cards through its front slots and can be connected to PictBridge cameras directly. Printing is as simple as previewing your pies on the 2.5-inch LCD, choosing the number of copies needed and pressing the print button.
Crave the freedom to print anywhere, anytime? Go for the optional battery pack too. The printer has built-in red-eye correction, and offers image optimisation and colour-tone selection options. But those aside, there are no other settings and controls available, lest you use a PC as the mediator. And since the LCD screen is'fixed and there's no pan and zoom functionality, that's a bit of a bother when selecting from multiple images.
The biggest plus is the amazing image quality - you get photo-quality and long-lasting prints in just over a minute. Collecting memoirs doesn't get any easier than this, really.
