SPEAKERCRAFT, the world leader in custom installed loudspeakers and electronics, received substantial honour as its AIM loudspeaker was inducted into the CEDIA Product Hall of Fame at the recent CEDIA Expo in Atlanta held from 2009.

Only one of the three products inducted this year, ie the AIM series, has had a dramatic effect on the custom installed audio-video market allowing installers to focus sound directly at the listening area.

"We are very proud of this technology as it has set us apart from the rest of the industry," remarked Jeff Francisco, SpeakerCraft's VP of product development. "Beginning with the original AIM loudspeaker, this pivoting format has since been applied to over thirty speakers in the SpeakerCraft catalogue."

The ability to pivot the entire speaker baffle changed the way systems were designed and installed. Previously, ceiling speakers were limited to a conical dispersion pattern in which the distance between the ceiling and the floor determined the coverage area.

AIM allowed for the sound to be pointed in a particular direction creating actual sonic imagining from a ceiling speaker. The result was a vast improvement in both dedicated audio and home¬theatre applications.
