I was in very few barbecue this summer, and the music has always leaving the stereo and opening the door to the sound from the outside. What is OK, so long as food is not 100 yards from the bottom of a garden, which tend to result in a very loud stereo, and some very annoying neighbors!

Obviously, someone else came across the same problem and decided to do something about it, some invention weatherproof, camouflaged speakers.

Speakercraft make a number of speakers aimed at the wall and hidden applications, but the ones that cought my eyes are these "rox" series. They look like… well, rocks!

What good would open speakers, though, if they could not withstand the elements? I am not saying that a response on the site:

"The interior is so durable that it can withstand rain, snow, scorching sun, and even swimming pool acids."

How cool! More here, and you can buy them from Smarthome HiFiBitz in the United States or in Britain.
