I want a PSP (PlayStation Portable) before and after reading the press release from Sony now I want more (I am a bit of shame I do not have any shisha). Sony announced today that the PSP firmware version 2.5 includes Locationfree application support.
Locationfree was some while now (although not quite take off that much in England yet), and allows you to manage, listen and watch your media collection at the various devices.
In the past, we found little Locationfree limits for devices that can be used with, but with support for the PSP, which is certainly going to change.
The system looks set to breeze your PSP with Locationfree wireless base station (LF-PK1). In its simplest form, you can watch football (or soccer for our friends across the pond), and realize you already have a tinnie too much, and need to go to the little boys room. In doing so, you can take it with PSP still watching the game (very carefully).
Another cool feature is the ability to connect the base station to your Internet connection (via cable or Wi-Fi), it allows access from anywhere in the world with a net connection. Since Wi-Fi is becoming more and more common place (and in some McDonald's is now), you will be able to watch their favorite shows transmitted from your own home almost anywhere. If you are about to visit a business, you do not need to watch the movie for a limited gathering in the hotel, and now you can call home to ask the other half to put on DVD and you can watch it together (to within 100 miles that is not always bad) .
