You would think that after the explosion of portable batteries fiasco that stoked the fires of anger customers (release pun) in the world last year, we do not see any more battery recalls any more as a whole would sit and take the necessary action to prevent such a situation repeated. Unfortunately, the Casio fell in the same position although on a much smaller scale, producing around 12000 batteries to recall their electronic musical keyboard Model CTK-710 due to the gap in a ball of flame, and what it's all around in a fiery death. We joke - until now there had been five cases of overheating report, which led to a pair of fires.

Fortunately, no casualties were reported as of press time. If you are the owner of an electronic musical keyboard Model CTK-710, please check whether your battery is the serial numbers from 7030001 to 7040400 and 7041901 to 7043500. If you have not bought these keyboards from Wal-Mart, Best Buy, and musical instrument stores across the country, in catalogues, on the Casio Web site, as well as at other sites since May of last year and February 2007, it is safe assuming that you are not affected.

For those who suffer, Casio kindly warns you to stop using it and disable it soon. You must remove the battery in a simple procedure and contact Casio toll-free at (866) 800-4302 from 9 am to 8 pm ET whole week for a free replacement.
