It is a group of three. It was also aclever 2009 puzzle platformer starring a trio of adventurers, eachwith specific talents. Lucky us, now we have a sequel, Trine 2, thatoffers more fun physics-based challenges, more beautiful vistas, andadds online multiplayer to the mix.

The 1st thingI noticed about Trine 2 is its sensational visuals. Every scene, fromforests to caves to lazy beaches, shines with rich detail andstartling lighting effects. There is always, always something amazingto distract you. Trine 2 easily creates for one of the prettiestgames of the year.

If you played the 1st Trine, you'll see a very well known game here. Players move from leftto right via fantasy spectacles, overcoming obstacles and executingsome goblins along the way. You have 3 heroes at your disposal: awizard that can invoke blocks and platforms, a thief with a bow andgrappling hook, and a knight with sword, hammer, and shield. Thebrilliance of Trine 2 is that it predominantly foliages the choice ofwhich hero to use up to you. I love it when a game lets me off mylead and says me "have fun," -- and that's the sort of gameTrine 2 is.

The game does neglect to teach the player someimportant mechanics, although, resulting in slight exasperation whenyou don't realize a solution is even possible. The wizards platforms, for case, can be stuck to tripping spiked maces, resulting in apendulum conveyance. That's actually cool, but it would have beennice to acquire a heads-up earlier I saw myself stuck at the bottomof an ice slope for a little overly long.

While playing by yourself you switchover among the three heroes at will. In a matter of moments you mightslash through some goblins like the knight, switch to the thief tograpple to a high platform, then switch to the wizard to shift aheavy block in front of a flame thrower. Trine 2 is even veryfriendly about multiplayer gaming, allowing up to three players toattach the adventure either locally or online. I detect the gamebecomes easier this way because you've acquired more as compared toonly one brain working on problems and you can multitask, but it'syet satisfying.

The some boss fights prove slightlyunsatisfying. When visually attractive, they don't need the similarthought like the remaining Trine 2. Just crossing a chasm can be aoriginal conundrum, but felling a giant beast is as simple as givingit some knocks to its weak spots. I do love the way the bosses areforetokened early on in levels, though.
