Only a few days ago Fudzilla took upthe interesting point that there are no Core i3 flavored 3rdgeneration Ivy Bridge processors on tap from Intel, or at least nonethat we experience of. They have not displayed up in leaked road mapsand, for the time being, it looks Intel is sticking on Core i5 and i7models for its mobile Ivy Bridge lineup. Luckily for you budgetpurchasers out there, Core i3 will create an appearance on thedesktop.
Consorting to Fudzilla's information,Intel will release no less as compared to five Core i3 Ivy Bridgeprocessors for the desktop in the second quarter of 2012, three ofwhich will settle in the transactional market and two in the lowpower market. The fastest of the bunch will be the Core i3 3420, adual-core chip clocked at 3.4GHz. It will have four threads, 3MB ofcache, Intel HD 2500 Graphics, and support DDR3-1333/1600 memory on aTDP that is under 55W.
Second in control is the Core i3 3225,another dual-core part that is clocked at 3.3GHz on four threads, 3MBof cache, DDR3-1333/1600 memory backup, and Intel HD 4000 Graphics,as well on a TDP under 55W. It is an interesting chip regarding thehigher end graphics commonly reserved for Core i5 and i7 parts. Sitting one rung lower is the Core i33220, essentially the same chip as the i3 3225 but with slower IntelHD 2500 Graphics. For the low power segment, Intel plans to releasethe Core i3 3420T and 3220T. No prices were referred for any of thechips.
