Airlive,a new name in wireless devices and backup solutions offers the MU7000AVS.The MU7000AVs is a multimedia network hard drive casing that can playback video and share files. The casing accepts standard desktop IDE or SATA hard disk drives. Installation is pretty simple just attach the hard disk drive with the power cable and an IDE connector, lock it with screw, and it's done.

For this test, we used our 804GB Seagate hard disk that was lying in our desk. All the necessary cables and software are bundled in the package. Once the hard drive was installed, we dumped some Divx.JPEG, and MP3 files to the drive. To play these files, you the expense of burning a disk.



With the OTB (One Touch Backup) application, you can also backup files from the PC or even from the network as it features a LAN port.ln case you need to protect the contents of the disk from your kids, you can do so with the parental control agent. You can simply setup the password to prevent unauthorised access. We were pretty impressed with the load times of multimedia files and the ease of operation of the device. MU7000AVS is a useful product for people who often watch movies and want to have a backup solution as well.However,due to its size we do not recommend it as a portable solution but rather as an office backup solution where it can be setup in one place.
