The HP Compaq dc7800 has a sturdily built cabinet that would definitely test your muscle power in case you need to carry it. The dc7800 is based on the Intel Core 2 Duo E6650 running at 2.33 Ghz. The storage and memory of the dc7800 is nothing to write home about as it features just 1GB RAM and a 160GB hard disk drive. Moreover, the PC offers a combo drive for burning optical media and not a DVD-writer.
Though the onboard Intel GMA chipset is good enough to let you enjoy the Windows Vista Aero interface, the absence of a dedicated graphics card means you cannot play any of the latest games. The 160GB hard disk has a dedicated space allocated to a recovery partition. What this means is that with the click of a button you can restore the machine to its original settings, a need that arises when things go wrong with a system. In case you need to utilize the recovery partitiononce you run out of disk space you can do that too asHP provides a recoveryDVD with the PC as well.
The outstanding aspects of this machine are its software and its operating system. The machine comes pre-loaded with Windows Vista Business Edition. HP also bundles Roxio Easy Media Creator for CD/DVD burning. The keyboard and mouse bundled along with the PC are plain vanilla. The black and silver coloured keyboard has good keys that provide a tactical feedback, but lacks multimedia controls. The mouse is a standard three-button edition with USB connectivity
The PC comes with eight USB ports all but two located at the back of the cabinet.
HP Compaq dc7800 does not come bundled with any monitor. HP does give a choice
of display options to select from. The dc7800's main attraction is its neat design. If you're looking for a machine that looks good and attractive in your study or living room, this is the obvious choice.
