Seemingly the younger sibling of the Intex Colledia model, the Night vision 305WC is a good offering for the price tag it carries. It looks petite with its black base and silver head. The base is a spring loaded clamp design, from which projects the camera head via a ball and socket type of joint. The camera head can be adjusted 360 degrees as needed. The top of the head carries a light sensor which activates the LED flash in low light conditions. The PC camera comes with an in-built 1.3¬megapixel Vimicro310 Neptune camera with a good CMOS sensor and adjustable focal lengths. The camera is relatively easy to plug in and install and comes with bundled video editing software including the CamTrack Christmas edition.

It is compatible with most common messengers including Yahoo, Windows Live, and Skype. It records motion pictures in AVI format up to 30 frames per second. However, unlike the Colledia model, it does not record sound. The basic software consists of Intex Video Power version 1 which serves for recording video and also for taking snapshots. Multitudes of options are incorporated in this software. The images are decently sharp and one can't expect more from a PC camera.

A rate of 30fps also displays a relatively smooth and flicker free resolution. As the bundled software is the same, colour, contrasts and brightness adjustments remains the same as in the Colledia model. Gamma corrections, white balance, exposure and sharpness can also be adjusted as necessary. Custom frames and imaging effects are also included with the software. Zoom and face tracking are interesting features and one can even adjust the frame rate and flip the images. It comes with a variety of in-built compression modes for the AVI format. Video display of up to 6-megapixel are available, however at higher resolutions the display becomes pixelated. The video can be docked in the main screen or can be popped out as a separate screen. Other details like date and time and timer shots are also included.

CamTrack provides added visualizations including solarizations, inverse colours and edge detection. It also allows for face tracking and noise filter besides various animations frames. Also, video recording software, AMcap provides for many customisable options for the video mode. However, it is only a direct show and video capture software and doesn't take snapshots. The technical specs include an USB 1.1 port, which leaves a bit to be desired in terms of speed when pitted against most other contemporary web cameras. It works with Windows 98/2000/ME and XP. The software doesn't support the latest as, Vista. As far as basic features and design are concerned, it's worth considering within the budget range.
