    Default RAM test: Using MEMTEST!

    Hello,

I'd like to test my RAM on my Windows 7 64-bit because of problem on my computer freez.

I downloaded the zip file memtest86 +-4.20.iso''''that contains the file''''mt420 (iso file). I then etched with neo launched at startup, however memtest does not start.

I just could launch a memory test window after pressing the space key.

I have everything set in my bios to boot from cd boot.

J e do not understand what file is and how serious are also serious.

this file is that''serious''mt420 on a CD or it must first extract it with daemon tools and burn its contents to another file ie image''and that''MEMTEST a BOOT file format.

Or else they serious image extracted from image mem420 called''MEMTEST''? it's a. iso also.

But there is also a file 2ime boot!

I'm ok you can extract a file from an image using daemon tools but then to extract an image from an image file, I myself pers in any case, we agree

Hence my question, which image is taken and how serious we file?

In fact, there is not even need Nero, right-click + "burn image to disk" should suffice. Nero is able to do so (but I do not know how), probably with CD + Data from the image or the good old Burning ROM interface by loading the iso + burn.

When I burn a file, I found this file on my CD when I burn a CD image (or DVD) I found the content and structure of the CD or DVD but not the image file.

I burned the file on nero mt420.iso 48x (cd data simply).

can not boot from it so I redid the manipulation by pressing a button (space) and that's where I got a page asking me to either boot from either window to test the memory window - to the believer RAM test, I chose 2ime possibility and it gave me the test.

No luck, it was not memtest.

Your CD does contain the README.TXT file and directory BOOT? (I guess so far but for sure).

If this is indeed the case (it would indicate that you have well etched image) then it may need to change the boot order in the bios of your pc..

As I edited my post above: it can serve as a board emulation IDE (IDE mode) on the controller on your DVD player / recorder if it is sata and if it does not boot.

It depends on the setting of memory it runs in a loop, indicating the number of turns. It is a succession of "small" tests.

The test time depends on the speed of RAM and proc and the size of RAM.

With a huge ladle 1 / 2 to 1 hour but it's a long time since I have not tried it, I should do it on my new config.

With a frequency too low because it is wrong for a party VAS, and even for diagnosis.

I would be surprised if it is the RAM or it would do you anytime, "preference" for load cpu (or gpu) strong.

You could run lynx to be sure.

The RAM can be very shady stuff:
    - Crash (the pc hangs permanently to a hard reset)
    - BSoD (but with seven direct reboot it, it does not necessarily have the time to see)
Theoretically it should also be able to reset it but live it is totally hs and there is little chance of it after boot.

But conflicts of my drivers or hardware installed can also cause crashes and BSoD.
