Default Regarding To New Hard Drive

Hi. hence here is the story. Purchased laptop in recent 07 its an acer travelmate 7720 about a year since it felt. Hence a friend told me to attempt installing another windows hence i did. It worked but i had 2 OS on it.. novel and old one. Hence it worked for about 11 months then crashed again and said no operating system found. . So i went out and bought a new hard drive and wanted to start fresh.

But it would load up from the disk go to install windows XP and stop and say can not found hard drive disk.... So what i was told was to slipstream using n lite or whatever. Hence i downloaded every the drivers with this other computer put them in made a novel ISO and burnt it to a disk and went to attempt it.. and i acquire ahcix64.sys not encountered...please someone assist me with this because its driving me nuts.

Have you attempted only wiping the original hard drive and installing to that? If you can acquire it to work and still want to use the novel drive then at least you know the method works. It could be requiring drivers during install or something.

Given that it's XP the best alternative (and easiest) would be to become into the laptops bios, and alter the hard drive controller to IDE way (or PATA). There will be a slight drop in transfer speeds, but basing on the speed of the hard drive you might not mark it.

Other than you will have to become via n Lite again to see what went wrong with the slip streaming. It could be that you acquired the incorrect driver, and in fact if I read it correctly it appears as you have slip streamed in the 64bit AHCI driver, which if this is XP 32bit, the installer would come up with that ahcix64.sys error.

ok therefore i did that put it on n lite. and it comes up with a list of controllers. they are all intel(R) but you acquire ones as ICH9 SATA AHCI Controller (desktop ICH9R) .. or 82801HEM SATA RAID controller (Mobile ICH8m-e) that's 2 out of almost 10 that came up.. do i require one. or everything of them.. and if one.. what one lol

Attempt the one that says, "Intel(R) 82801HEM/HBM SATA AHCI Controller" first. This is the one for ICH8, which "should" be the hard drive controller in your laptop. If it doesn't work attempt either the listing over it, "Intel(R) 82801HR/HH/HO SATA AHCI Controller" as this is also for ICH8 (ICH8R in fact), or the one below it, "Intel(R) ICH9 SATA AHCI Controller" as I think some of the later versions of that laptop used that controller rather.

64bit XP was probably a bad idea. When encountering drivers for 32bit XP is fairly simple (very easy for that laptop in fact) for a laptop of that age encountering 64bit drivers may take a bit, and probably not at all in a couple cases.

In any case you require to encounter the drivers for it, and that means hunting them down. That, or grab some sort of application that is capable of searching for drivers for you, or some sort of drivers collection pack, such as DriverPack Solution, a program which incorporates a collection of drivers provided by DriverPacks.net.

Hey, therefore i acquired the sound and the internet to work .. using it at this time!! lol but there are still some that don't work . like the mass storage controller. and some others.. Yes this is the acer with the crystal eye. would you have a link to where i could encounter these drivers? because i can't only update them watching how i attempted that on the spot.
