Thread: Windows OEM licensing terms have altered

Lately, Microsoft modified the licensing terms for OEM editions. Antecedently, buyers were permitted to use OEM licenses to their own computers supplied the licenses were purchased with qualifying hardware. Still, the Windows OEM System Builder EULA now prohibits buyers from using OEM licenses to computers they are constructing for themselves, friends, family members, etc.

My first question would be when it arrives to formalizing your copy of an OEM with a self built PC how do they know if the PC is self build or bought? Is this now only a hook M$ can or may or will apply to announce your OEM copy invalid someplace down the road and need you to buy another license if you want to proceed using it? Or a way to force you to upgrade? The entire thing sound devious and underarmed to me. I think this will just encourage more people to use cracked copies of the operating system they expect.

M$ supplies an OS, not hardware. The Hardware a consumer uses is none of they're concern. If I purchase a stand alone OS it should be good on any machine I apply it on whether I move it on not. What I can't do is copy it. That they were permitted to connect there OS to a machine at everything is a mistake. A mistake that requires to be corrected. This change should effect Mac as well. They'll be sued over this one.

There is hope I suppose .......... the Google OS. If M$ expects to force this feat they improve hurry and also then it will not last long. Whether by Google, A Mac OS or package created in India, china or Russia they will be releasing they're unjust strangulate kept with the consumer soon.

My guess is it may "go to press" too soon. There is no mention of it's capability to run custom PC constructs. Whether or not it will come in time to save the "mom and pop" PC buconstructild shops or Mass component distributors as Newegg is till to be seen. They may not have to cash reserves to watch them via in a difficult economy. Sound as Google requires a delay in M$'s plans.

With Chrome OS just supporting particular hardware configurations, the mean customer will not be capable to set up it without first trusting on third-party developers creating or adding the needed drivers and software interfaces. And without the capability to set up programs as you can on the average operating system, it's just enough for those who trust solely on cloud-depended computing; all others will have to handle a dual-boot install or purchase multiple computers, defeating the purpose of having a bare-bones OS. And as it's a free download, Newegg will not be selling the OS, hence its availability does not benefit as retailers in any way.

It hasn't been released till. Nothing but speculation at this point. My suppose is they'll go everything – the - way on a Linux base, having the Linux hardware drivers and there chrome applications. I watch it as this, you turn on your PC and go straight to the Internet bypassing the Desktop using the Google OS.

Nearly all of us do that anyway or would like to, most of us good straight to our mail when we turn on our PCs. Everything in the Windows OS can be accessed from the taskbar. Appears as Google is slope stepping the desktop and moving the taskbar to the top of the Window. Simpler easy, less time consuming then only open applications from there.

The Internet is as a low level application these days it's nearly a joke, it's becoming an antique relic that runs at a nails pace, employs some PC resourcefulnesses and an sporadic link. I now have a Validation request also though I validated my system 6 months ago. I look that it's a away in for microsoft to force you to upgrade to windows 7, I detect it to many issues especialywhen microsoft are going to put out a novel program as Vista & windows 7. Now I am attempting to remove the Validation request's & now matter what I do I cant remove it, unless i re-install my XP PRO copy & office copy, but lose current data.
