Thread: Require assistance on terminal server licensing

I am thus lost about the complete topicof terminal server licensing with server 2003 r2 sp2standard.
Therefore we basically apply this to run few billingsoftware, and everything we do is remote desktop link from anothercomputer either in the house or from another computer. And its beentelling the terminal server will expire in 120, which is now down to10 days.
Everything I bought was a 5 cal server 2003 on theproduct key. There is essentially just one user with at a time fromanother computer to do billing either from the similar network orelsewhere. Does anyone experience what will happen if I alter theserver licensing way to per device/per user from the present "perserver" way. It tells that once done I cannot undo it. Will Inot be capable to remote desktop link onto this server? Or will I beresponsible for acquiring server licensing for every user, or will itexamine for sure product keys and not let users to log in?

Have you also bought licenses? It will produce no difference if you haven't because your users will not be capable to link.

I believe I already answered that question. You will however be in the similar boat unless you buy the reserve licenses.

I deleted terminal services and it lets me to remote desktop link without issues. I attempted 2 computers together and it even did work. No requirement for any licenses.

It will let 2 concurrent sessions below an admin account. You will require licensing if you are linking users from the external world into your LAN.

Remote desktop connection lets up to 2 connections console without any additional licensing. It tells it in the assist and support place.

I realize this, but it is not terminal services then, only RDP links. Any more as compared to two concurrent links and it will not let any further access.

Sorry to trouble you ahead but How is terminal services different from remote desktop link as far as using the applications? Later upgrading the billing program I acquire "runtime errors" when I apply the program from any user also administrator whether with the server or with RDC. Would this be from including no terminal services or from the application.
