Thread: Problems related Windows Server

Thus I set up windowsserver 2008 r2 on my macbook air, everything is working fine exceptright-click is not. I could not set up the boot camp control panelthrough the BootCamp64.msi file because it affords me the message"This edition of boot camp is not intended for this computermodel."


Thus I manually set up everything thedrivers contained in a separate drivers folder. I believe you require to set up this boot camp control panel in order for right-click towork. Now I experience there is a way to bypass this examine byacquiring into registry settings but I don't experience how to dothat? Whats weird is that I actually had right-click working a somemonths ago but I the apple store genius bar people removed my windowspartition. Thus there must be a way to acquire it working again.

Iam compelled to apply windows for school because most seriousengineering programs run just with windows. How could I acquireright-click working again? Anybody experience? Any guesses will bevery much appreciated.

Thanks for searching Bob and you are correct, Windows Server is not back up by Apple. Still, I really had bootcamp control panel set up and all was working amazingly till yet I had my hard drive passed over by apple technicians. I don't remember how I did it but it decidedly was easy as I rarely work difficult.

Forgive me for being technical but the only reason bootcamp Control Panel does not set up is because the BootCamp64.msi file does a check of the OS earlier it runs, if the OS doesn't suit within its search parameters it will return false for the precondition which is the OS being either XP, Vista or 7 and will return the message "This version of bootcamp is not meant for this computer model." there is no technical reason why the Bootcamp CP shouldn't set up. In fact, nearly any software compatible with any consumer edition of windows will work with server because many software deficiencey a built-in mechanism for OS examining.

I require this to work because my school is requiring I run windows as each program they afforded me is solely written for windows. Someone please assist!!!

My buddy that did this tells it works. I can only suggest why you proceed to have issues. But why not apply the common USB 2 button mouse?

Therefore the right-click function on your friend's single button macbook is working through VMware? Are you certain he's running a server version of windows? Because, like I said earlier, right click will work on each consumer version of windows as XP, Vista, and 7. I don't employ an outside mouse because its inconvenient.

But I don't have VMware on my macbook air, I just have it on my work iMac which, again, right-click does*not*work on. I'm fairly certain VMware won't support it because they will say me, Apple doesn't write drivers for it, thus we don't back up it. I'm beginning to give up on this issue, perhaps this is something the mac fix it people can solve?

I detected Vmware to fix things and afford back up but then again we pay them for the support. I'm suggesting you are not willing to pay for it to be fixed or only apply the workaround of a mouse for today. In other words, you should post as widely as you can and hope someone else has a fix. I can't tell what's different from my buddy's set up. It only worked but then again he paid dearly for the Vmware license.

I definitely am not willing to pay for it personally but as I have VMware on my iMac, I have back up. While I worry my try to contact them will be futile as it doesn't make sense for them to support the functionality of another company's product. I know this really isnt a fault of windows but boy do I really dislike windows now.
