    Hi , I recently bought a motherboardbundle i5 core , Asus P8P67-M Pro on 8 GB of ram . When I keep itinto my case and turned it with it was at depended adjusting at3.3ghz , I went true few of the adjusting to alter it to 4.8 like waswith the amazon plus and it will not alter clock speed, how can Imake overclocking work .

    Hey guy I am not certain about your trouble I thought id bump this for you while because I enjoyed the mode you said “i went true some of the settings”.

    From my limited knowledge these days, it sounds like you have acquired that Intel speed-step thingy switched on in the BIOS. Essentially the CPU will run slower when it's not doing much, but when you keep it under load it will jump to 4.8ghz.

    Download these two programs, one is called CPU-Z. The other is LinX .Install both, after you've got them set up, run CPU-Z and examine the speed it reports your processor running at. Today, begin up LinX. There are just a some alternatives in this program, the only one you actually require to do is adjust your memory usage to 2048 and then click Begin.

    Your focus should be with CPU-Z after clicking Begin inside LinX. If speed-step is enabled in your bios, you should watch the processor jump up to the 4.8GHz its supposedly clocked at once it arrives below a decent load. The second you stop the LinX test, it should drop right rear down to the speed you saw it at earlier beginning the test.
