Default Task List For Apply On Task Manager

But are not certain about whether it inreality is a virus or whether your present anti-virus is any good .Inextra, if you suspect a virus from an unknown attachment, but are notalso confident on anti virus, it does not hurt to apply multiple antivirus programs to examine. A simple way is to create yourself a hotmail / yahoo account and forward the file above there, and have theiranti virus scanners test it.

Only needed to tell, "thanks." One of my LAN comrades arrived down on a awful virus. It holds making .eml .nws and .vxd files named later MY Pictures files. It even was beginning MS Outlook express. He thought it was the sorry.c, but I never heard anything about it doing that.

The Symantec AntiVirus Research Center's Online Encyclopedia proffers the most up-to-date data with recent threats, detailed in the list under. You may even search the encyclopedia for a comp description of older threats.

    Hi ,
I entirely agree. I and the company I work for have had a number contagions that have not been found by "individual" packages, but have been picked up by a combination of packages. In once case, Solomon was the just one to pick up the virus, in another it was few package I can not also remember the name of! In both situations, NAV failed to find anything at everything, and I am talking about the very most recent releases!

The point is, people, do not trust to one package everything the time. If you suspect you have a virus, attempt two or three packages! AV software is simple to acquire keep of these days - use it!!!

I am astonished at the number of folk I experience that have been caught out above the last 6 to 12 months with viruses. I apply web depended email and I have not been touched. I leave Outlook Express alone unless somebody requires to send me something also large for web depended email. Eudora appeared to be an a safer option in the past, can anybody advise if this however the case?

Yep Eudora is the safest, as long as you remember to turn off the viewer. Telnet is the safest. Am sick of wackos with the network who cant resist clicking with any attachment that arrives inside a 5 mile radius of their email accounts. & that complete "oh there is an anti virus with the server" excuse bugs me.

Even prompts me of the first time I arrived across a virus - I said to the boss, "all you have to do is set the date to such and such and reboot". "Rubbish" he said, adjusting the date on his own PC and powering it off. He switched it rear with and the display stayed blank, though the virus passed over his hard drive. I asked him if he would done a support lately. I could tell by his face that he had not.

Seriously, yes, there do appear to have been more "cases" in the last 12 months or so. The folk who write virus's create me sick. They are terrorists without a cause. Sorry to be too nasty, but I have experienced folk to lose all because of a virus. I actually think we should acquire awful with these folk. They must cause billions in damage each year. Who is slope are they with???? They should be attempted for Treason.

I have a trouble on a friends PC that I think may have a virus. She said she had a virus that her anti-virus found but because of a some troubles she had afterwords, she reloaded the OS applying the recovery CD, but is however having trouble like in she cant acquire into her banking site & can not access her Norton anti-virus after a re-setup to acquire updates for it.

I have done an online scan for viruses applying Trend micros site & it arrives up clean. I contained the boot sector in the scan. The trouble is I have upgraded her IE to IE6, lowered her security settings to nothing, removed her proxy, & later 2 hours I however can not acquire into a password display for her banking & however can not upgrade her anti-virus.

I read lately about a novel virus that alters the file extensions once its infected a HD to an extension not recognized by anti-virus programs. I am thinking may be this is her trouble.

Only idea I would pass this with: like a reminder. If your anti virus plan has an alternative for you: why should you require to quarantine files? How frequent do false positives happen? On good anti virus plans such like PC-Cillin & Norton, the opportunities of such occurrences are very hardly. And what if the file is sure a virus? Then what good is it quarantining it?

Quarantine means, the antivirus removes access to that file, by either hiding or altering the file name or both; and then not letting the user access though the anti virus is running. What occurs if you boot to DOS or if you turn off your Anti virus program or it crashes? The file becomes accessible.

A suggestion, I always afford is first run a via diagnostic of your system, on the quarantine switched on. Once you have rectified any possible matters on your files, and hopefully you acquired a clean bill of health. Then switch off quarantine and adjust to delete files.
